Here is the re-introduction of Averbakh 1949 Moscow Chess Championship match. It was seen Yurii Averbakh playing with the set with matches against Zagorainsky in 1949. Chess Praxis in his early years called this set as Averbakh 1 Set. Hence the 1949 Moscow Championship Set, also known as the “Averbakh” or “Averbakh 1” as our patron saint Arlindo Vieira identified the set as one of his four “Utopia” sets in his iconic 2012 video.

This is an exquisite chess set . The quality of the craftsmanship is outstanding.I recommend it to all chesslovers
With ICC you can also rely on excellent service. I received my chess set only 5 days after
ordering
The Averbakh 1949 set arrived today. I am delighted at the quality of the craftsmanship. It exceeds my expectations and will be a joy to play with for many years. I'm looking forward to adding your work to my collection in the future.
Nicely done. Very nicely Carved and painted. Love the antiqued coffee color.
Playing devil's advocate, I would have love it to be slightly heavier and the steams to be slightly thinner downward the base. Details. The set is awesome and the price is super competitive. Great Job.
I'm very happy with my purchase of this set!
First, it looks great, especially White pieces -- the antique colour of the wood looks exquisite, I also like how it looks slightly differently under different light. The pieces themselves are very well carved, I haven't found any flaws in my set, neither in wood or padding. I always wanted to get a replica of one of those beautiful old Soviet sets with their characteristic Kings (without crosses) and finally I got one! When I posted my pictures of this set to "Chess Collectors" Facebook group, I've got ~170 likes (and counting), I guess this also testifies to the fact that you can impress with it even serious connoisseurs of fine chess arts! :) I think the only minor complaint I have about my set is that the tip of White King's "crown" is rather sharp (not dangerously sharp, but still), perhaps it would be better to polish it a little bit. I've already played several games with this set and sometimes I feel that I am distracted by the beauty of the pieces from the actual chess game :D
Second, it was delivered quickly and well packed: I've got it from India to the UK in 5-6 days. It also came with an authenticity certificate signed by the artist, which adds a nice personal touch.
Thank you, Indian Chess Company, this set made my week!
