The New Columbian Staunton Series Chess Pieces in Bud Rosewood & Box wood - 3.8" King

We are pleased to announce the all new Columbian Staunton Series, exquisitely crafted in heirloom quality bud rosewood and natural boxwood. The King proudly stands at 3.89 inches and its base is robust 1.65 inches. This is a majestic design featuring the magnificently robust and prepossessing knight. 

Weight : 1200 grams (42.32 oz). Please note that the weight in the set is added manually so the final weight of the set can vary by plus or minus (±) 10%.

Dark chess pieces are exquisitely crafted in bud rosewood. Because of its rarity, bud rosewood chess pieces are the primary choice of many chess enthusiasts. Bud rosewood is an alluring wood and probably the most admired wood for luxury chess sets. 

The opposing pieces are made of boxwood which is traditionally used for white side. It is one of the fairly easy woods to work with and shows off superlative beauty and herculean artistry work. The set comes with free extra queens for effortless pawn promotion. All chess pieces are expertly carved and weighted for fantastic hand-feel and a very nice thud on the wooden chess board.

Craftsmanship: The carving and the design of the knight are quite spectacular, details around eyes, nostrils, teeth and, craftsmanship near the knight's flowing mane is exceptional. The design of the other pieces is also highly outstanding that allow the set to truly stand out.

Uniformity of pieces: The shapes of turned pieces are guided by metal profiles and so all turned pieces are identical, especially the pawns. You can expect some variation where hand carving or cutting comes i.e. knights.
