Reproduced Old Soviet Russian Latvian Series weighted chess pieces featuring a 4.1" King with a 1.69" base. The set includes 34 pieces (2 extra queens) with weighted bases and thick green felt for smooth movement. Dark pieces are crafted from Sheesham wood, while the light ones are made from Natural Boxwood.
The set became famous worldwide after being featured in Netflix’s hit series The Queen’s Gambit. Seen in key moments of Beth Harmon’s story, it came to represent elegance, brilliance, and the true spirit of chess. This appearance made it a modern classic and a must-have for collectors.
Each piece showcases exquisite lathe work, elegant curves, and unique collar rings. The knights feature distinct carvings on each side, while the rooks have four turret cuts. The king finial and queen ball are of opposite colors, following the classic Soviet/Russian style.
